5. Keeping the Last Passover
aNow on the first day of the 1bFeast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the passover?
And He said, Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, The aTeacher says, My btime is near. I am keeping the passover at your house with My disciples.
And the disciples did as Jesus directed them, and they prepared the passover.
aAnd when evening fell, He reclined at table with the twelve.
And as they were eating, He said, Truly I say to you that aone of you will betray Me.
And being greatly grieved, each one of them began to say to Him, I am not the one, am I, Lord?
And He answered and said, The one who dips his hand with Me in the dish, this one will betray Me.
The Son of Man is going away, even as it is awritten concerning Him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.
And Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, I am not the one, am I, aRabbi? He said to him, 1bYou have said it yourself.
