24. Teaching against Divorce
1And some 2Pharisees came and asked Him whether it was lawful for a man to 3divorce a wife, so as to atempt Him.
And He answered and said to them, What did Moses command you?
And they said, Moses allowed us to write a acertificate of divorce and divorce her.
And Jesus said to them, Because of your ahardness of heart he wrote this commandment for you.
But from the abeginning of creation, He bmade them male and female.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother 1and shall be ajoined to his wife;
And the two shall be aone flesh. So then they are no longer two, but one flesh.
Therefore what God has ayoked together, let man not bseparate.
And in the house the disciples questioned Him again concerning this.
And He said to them, Whoever adivorces his wife and marries another commits badultery against her.
And if she adivorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.
